Kieran Mazumdar-Shaw is the founder of Indian biomedical company Biocon. He started biocon from a rental home and grew into India’s largest listed biotherapy company in terms of income. Biocon, a global company, went public in 2004, the second Indian company to reach $1 billion on its first day of trading. Janis Bryant Harveyd
Janis Bryant Harveyd is the founder of ActOne Group, the first African-American female-led company to generate more than $1 billion in annual sales.
ActOne is an employment agency and consultant based primarily in Los Angeles. It has more than 17,0 customers in 19 countries, and like many of its counterparts on the list, Harveyd began with a very humble start. He launched the company in 1976 for just $1,500. She became America’s richest self-made woman in 2020.

Winfrey’s talent became an entrepreneur and a cable station was established in collaboration with Oxygen Media. He continued to host talk shows until 2011, when OWN: Oprah founded Winfrey Network and hosted its CEO. In 2015, Oprah earned a stake in Wesin Wonder International and became a spokesperson for the popular weight loss program. Winfrey has a net worth of $2.6 billion, according to Forbes. 9

Blakely, inventor of Spanx underwear for women and men, started with just $5,000 of her own money, ideas and pure drive. To support female entrepreneurs during the pandemic, she partnered with GlobalGiving to launch the Red Backpack Fund, which awarded female business owners a $5,000 award of more than $1,000.
